In 2018, World Mental Health Day is focusing on young people and the effect that poor mental health has during a time in life where lots of changes happen, both internally and externally.
Research shows that every year, one adult in four (along with one child in in ten) experiences a mental health issue - that's 25% of all adults and an issue that affects most of us directly or indirectly. Unfortunately, the stigma attached to mental health causes a damaging, but ill-informed, attitude, making it difficult for people of any age to seek help when they need it.
That’s why, this World Mental Health Day, Aspin is focusing on all employees, regardless of their age, and offering help and support where it’s needed. On Wednesday 10th October, there will be meeting rooms set aside in various offices to provide a confidential space for employees to speak to the HR teams about any mental health issues they may be experiencing. Advice will also include the provision of informative literature as well as freely available supoprt and healthlines.
Vitality, our private healthcare provider, found during their Britain’s Healthiest Workplace research that 54% of employees suffer from at least one form of work-related stress. There are many tips to help deal with workplace stressors, including the utilisation of mindfulness to improve concentration and reduce stress levels https://www.vitality.co.uk/business/at-work/campaigns/mindfulness-living...
