Help for the Homeless this Christmas - Appeal

Kind hearted Aspin teams in the Huthwaite office are encouraging everyone in the group to join in a charity initiative and help the homeless this Christmas.

Like all the best ideas, it’s easy to do and involves filling a sock with essentials that will help homeless people this winter, plus some suggestions for treats. Items could include toothbrush and toothpaste, hand gel, deodorant, gloves, soap and perhaps some chocolates and/or sweets. It’s been requested that no money is included but the matching sock rolled up with the goodies in the packed sock will be very welcome!

Alex Pemblington and Ebru Cokyasar are co-ordinating the appeal and arranging to deliver the socks on a regular basis up to 20 December to the local Mansfield soup kitchen from where the volunteers will hand them out to those most in need.

“Homelessness is a growing national problem and people lose their homes for so many different reasons, including losing a job or a family breakdown. There’s help available to tackle the problem very local to us and we all wanted to do our bit and we’d love everyone in Aspin to join us,” said Alex Pemblington.

How Can I Help?
If you and your colleagues would like to join in, please fill the socks and give them to someone who is visiting Huthwaite over the next couple of weeks. Ebru Cokyasar will arrange to have them delivered. Simple!
Please contact Alex or Ebru if you’d like more information.

Donations to support the work of the volunteers are also welcome:
And if you want to help other charities for the homeless, there are plenty of good causes and organisations which will be very pleased to have your support:
